A Cross-Country Eco-Video Project

Our Family

Our family is uniquely suited for this project:

1. Simply put, we live our values. We live a green lifestyle by example, actively promoting opportunities to live more sustainably.
2. Our videos have been seen by over 200,000 people, including our video 'Reel Mowers Cut Down Pollution', which won the MSN/LiveEarth video contest. You can see all of our videos on www.YouTube.com/carrickgareth.
3. We homeschool our two boys, so we have the freedom to travel in the late spring, before the busy summer traveling season.
4. We are self-employed, which gives us the flexibility to take 2 months for our travel project.
5. Our VW Beetle that runs on used vegetable oil gives us a uniquely carbon-neutral mode of transportation. Otherwise, driving a gas-guzzler across the country to make eco-videos would sort of be defeating the purpose. Since we'll be able to purchase filtered vegetable oil for $1/gallon from a network of people across the country, it will also be a more affordable way to drive thousands of miles.
